More adventures with Tina and Haley

So yesterday, Haley and I were so tired by the time we got home that neither one of us blogged. We had a really fun, interesting day. First, we went by the train station and checked out the cost of going to Italy. We are going to see our friend Jade who's husband Matt is stationed in Italy in the army. Then we went to hear Bill Gates speak. It was really good and the place was packed. In fact, I had to watch from an overflow room. He's very popular with the WHO because he does a lot of humanitarian stuff, especially with vaccines. Next we met with a woman who heads a special interest group called the Orchid Project. It deals with Female Genital Mutilation. If you don't know what that is, and you want to be enlightened, you can go to their website www.orchidproject.org
It's definitely not for the faint at heart. Then Haley and I decided to go exploring and shopping and looking for Pizza. We never got the pizza, but we did wander around Geneva and had some fun. Then being the experienced tram travelers that we have become, we hopped the tram to head home. Interestingly, we didn't recognize any of the scenery. It finally became apparent to us that yes, we did take the right tram, unfortunately, we took it going the wrong direction. Pretty funny, so we got off and caught it going the other way. The nice thing is, we feel like we know our way around enough that even if we get lost, we know how to get home. Well, Haley is skyping with the family, so I am going to join her. More later.

  1. I would have loved to hear Bill Gates speak. I remember seeing a show on female genital mutilation on Oprah or something and just being horrified. Thank goodness we live where we do!
I laughed so hard when I read about your tram adventure. At least you're seeing lots of the country! lol Love you!
